New Waste Disposal Process in Hauterive
Successfully Implemented!
The municipality of Hauterive in the canton of Fribourg, located in the Saane district, is home to just over 2,000 residents. In their efforts to streamline the disposal of household waste bags, the municipality turned to us. The previous approach, where garbage bags were collected door-to-door (with a bag fee), was to be replaced by a new system: Residents would now deposit their garbage bags at the new waste collection point and pay according to their weight.
The municipality had the following objectives in advance:
- Integration into the new municipal recycling center
- Easy online payment solution for the residents
- Faster and uncomplicated disposal process
- Minimization of waiting times
- Transparency for the residents
The following benefits were achieved through the project implementation:
- Residents can top up their accounts online and check their balance via the virtual wallet system provided by Gestinergie.
- The process of depositing and weighing the waste bags takes only about 20 seconds per resident, three times faster than other solutions.
- The used device displays the account balance before and after the transaction.
- The KOCOrecycling module allows for the management of the disposal cycle and is linked to the Gestinergie virtual wallet.
With the completion of this project, the municipality has achieved its goals and now offers its residents a customer-friendly and efficient solution. Thanks are also due to our partners Garage Kolly and Villiger Entsorgungssysteme AG for their excellent collaboration on this project.
